Saturday & Sunday

For years the Flathers family dreamed of experiencing rural life, with fresh air, open spaces, and plenty of animals. Their vision was to learn practical homesteading, dairying, and livestock management skills while teaching their children character and responsibility through daily farm life. That dream came true in 1997, when the family bought Meadowdean. The 200-year-old farm on the Hazel River was as rich with history as the land was beautiful.

A small herd of registered Nubian and Alpine dairy goats provides the family with milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream and soap, as well as hours of sheer delight. The family’s horses also provide a way to gain new skills and enjoy the beauty of the farm from a higher vantage point! And finally, two donkeys, a few chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats round out the assortment of animals on this family farm.
